Judo Programs for Blind and Visually Impaired
Students
Judo is a great sport for anyone including those who are visually impaired. Very few accommodations are needed to make Judo accessible and fun for the blind. UFB has included Judo as part of our summer Sports Camp for several years and we have had numerous students make great advancements in the sport.
There are several Judo instructors in Utah who are certified and experienced with teaching Judo to the visually impaired. These instructors may be contacted at any time to get more information about their programs.
Each fall the Utah Foundation for the Blind sponsors students who wish to continue in Judo after the UFB Sports Camp. We provide Judo scholarships that cover one half of the costs of Judo instruction from one of the approved instructors for the months of September through December.
