Utah's 2013 Regional
Braille Challenge

The Braille Challenge Program is an opportunity for
students to
improve their Braille reading and writing skills. The
culminating event is the regional Braille Challenge on March 2nd which
will include competitions, awards, prizes, contests, and fun. Scores
from our Utah event will be sent to the national Braille Challenge and
compared to other Braille readers around the counter with the top
performers in each age group invited to the national competition in
June.

The Braille Challenge® Reading, Writing & Spelling Contest Utah Regional: Friday, March 1, 9:00 – 3:00 DSBVIIndividual registration for the 2013 Braille Challenge Utah regional is now happening!! Registration forms and to be returned before February 1. The 13th annual Braille Challenge® is the only national reading and writing contest in braille for blind and visually impaired students.
Braille Challenge® categories include reading comprehension, braille speed and accuracy, proofreading, spelling and reading tactile charts and graphs. The top-scoring 60 contestants come to Los Angeles in June for a Final Round—two days of competition, camaraderie and fun. Register Today! Parents are welcome to attend but will not be able to follow their individual students into the competition rooms. However, we are excited to offer a workshop for parents each year. This year we will have two options. (1)A beginning Braille introduction workshop and (2)a more advanced workshop focusing on Braille contractions.

Institute in Los Angeles and sponsored in Utah by the Utah
