Some Interesting Facts:

It is estimated there are over 3,400 blind and visually impaired school-aged children in Utah.

 

Last year volunteers donated over 5,000 hours to help with UFB programs.

 

UFB goalball teams (sport for blind athletes) have won six national championships and UFB will host the 2012 USA National Championship Tournament in June.

 

In 1925 Helen Keller challenged Lions Club members to be "Knights of the blind."

 

There are great career opportunities for people interested in being trained to work with the blind.

 

The use of the white cane by blind people in North America began in 1931 thanks to the efforts of Lion's Clubs International.
